Emma Dau Weddings

In the last few years I have been asked to play countless weddings. It started off with friends and moved on to people who had found me on YouTube, Triple J Unearthed and Facebook. Recently I have launched “Emma Dau Weddings” to be able to do weddings, without diluting my original act “Dear Willow” with cover songs. “Emma Dau Weddings” is offering acoustic indie-folk music for ceremonies, cocktail hour and small receptions.

I have clocked up a large number of weddings now (including being a Maid of Honour x1, Bridesmaid x2 & Bride x1) and truly enjoy creating an atmosphere tailor made for couples on their big day.

I am specialising in ceremony music where I work with couples to find which songs play a part in their love story and work with them to help create a unique ceremony. This often involves pre-ceremony background music, aisle song (processional), signing song (during signing of documents), recessional and post-ceremony music. These songs are tailored to you and specific songs can be learnt upon request.

This often leads to cocktail hour where guests linger whilst the bridal party heads off to get photos taken. It can be a nice touch to entertain your guests, particularly if the ceremony and reception are at the same venue.

I also play small or low key receptions. As a soloist of my style (though duo style is possible upon request) with acoustic guitar as my weapon of choice, I am suited best to low key music. The length that I play is tailored to the occasion.

*Now taking enquiries for 3 hour reception with full band music.*

My song list (generic) is available on request and can be emailed to you.

“Cannot highly recommend Emma Dau enough!!! Emma was wonderful to work with in the planning process. She so beautifully played my bridesmaids and I down the aisle, set a wonderful ceremony atmosphere and willingly took the time to learn a new song to perform, at our request. We are blessed to have found such a versatile, talented and brilliant musician to play on our special day. Emma felt like part of the family as her passion and joy reflected in her performance and communication. Thank you so much for making our wedding day perfect.” -Glen and Kristen (2015)

“Emma, you and your voice are incredible. I must admit I was a little nervous hiring someone I have never heard in person to perform at my wedding but I am so glad I took the risk. Everything from your communication leading up to the big day, your performance on the day and even your sweet card wishing us congratulations was more than we could have hope for. My only regret is not being able to listen to you longer. “ -Cassie (2017)
For anyone thinking about hiring Emma, don’t give it a second thought – she is worth it.

“I can’t thank or recommend you enough!!!!
It was absolutely beautiful and we had such amazing compliments on your music. Love you so much for it!!!” -Dani (2017)

“When I started to think about music, Emma Dau (Dear Willow) was the first person to come to mind to play at my wedding. Not only does she have a beautiful voice, but I knew she would go above and beyond, cater to every need and crazy idea I had. And she did. Emma works unceasingly to make sure everything is perfect, and brought the most beautiful atmosphere to our day. I cannot say enough to express what a treasure she is. Thank you Emma!” -Kia and Jesse (2016)

“Em-J provided lovely music for our wedding and both my wife and I love her chilled style.  Highly recommended, 5 stars!” -Dave  (2012)

“Love, love, LOVED having Em-Jas part of our special day! She was professional but personable, full of heart & has a rather splendid set of lungs :)” . – Kit (2012)

“We chose Emma for our wedding as a last minute decision and on a whim after seeing her advertisement on Gumtree.
I was very nervous about the decision as our aisle song was a very challenging one, and not something Emma had played before. Very happy to say she absolutely played it like an angel and it was flawless.
We had Emma play for our ceremony music and following that for a couple of hours at our casual backyard reception and she was perfect. Set the mood beautifully and it was a great variety of easy listening music.” -Angela 2017
